This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Maine, benefiting the state’s economy, its workforce and businesses.
Gelinas HVAC owner, Justin Zandan, believes this acknowledgement highlights their great team of technicians and staff. Work atmosphere is very contagious, so having a very positive environment elevates everyone. After spending 17 years in a large corporate setting, he purchased Gelinas HVAC in 2015 to grow a business that was already very family-oriented and had a strong crew. His goal is to always be looking for ways to continuously improve as a company and a workforce. Building a team where there is trust, cooperation, accountability, and equity is a top priority.
“Fostering a supportive and healthy work culture for our employees is a core value of ours. I am very honored by this recognition, and I consider building a positive work environment for our employees an important accomplishment. I know we couldn’t do what we do without our outstanding team!”
~ Justin Zandan, Owner
When people are happy in their jobs, they care more about their work and the company. They deliver better customer service. Saying you are a team is not enough, there has to be the value and practice of putting people first, and that starts with the staff. When they feel valued, they carry that quality out into the field.
“To me, this recognition means our customers have a better overall experience with Gelinas. That is what we are here for – to help people.”
Justin Zandan
The HVAC industry in Southern Maine is a very competitive one for recruiting new employees, especially technicians. This distinction as a Best Place to Work will set Gelinas apart from other companies, and make them more attractive to job candidates who are considering employment options.
“Attracting top talent is our goal, so adding this award to our credentials as an employer should make us a more appealing place to build a career. We want to be a great company to work for.”
~ Justin Zandan
Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Maine. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final rankings. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Maine and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
